Steel Ball Sorting Machine

Two counter-rotating rollers are set at an adjustable, gradually widening gap so that each ball drops through at the exact point matching its diameter. This gravity-and-geometry principle delivers reliable, repeatable sorting without sensors or complex electronics — balls from 2 mm to 16 mm are classified into the correct collection box every cycle.

The machine offers a choice between screw-type and vibratory bowl feeding systems, both designed to meter balls into the roller gap in single file and at a controlled rate. At 1,500–2,000 pieces per minute, the system keeps pace with upstream ball-manufacturing equipment and eliminates the bottleneck of manual grading.

Rollers and critical wear surfaces are machined from 40Cr alloy steel — a chromium-alloyed medium-carbon steel chosen for its combination of hardness, toughness, and fatigue resistance. This material choice extends roller life significantly compared to mild-steel alternatives, reducing downtime and replacement costs.

The machine draws only 0.5 KW from a standard single-phase 220VAC supply, making it operable in virtually any workshop without dedicated power infrastructure. Roller gap adjustment is mechanical and straightforward, allowing operators to reconfigure for a different ball-size range in minutes.

An integrated safety protection structure and enclosed cabinet body shield moving rollers and drive components from accidental contact, meeting practical workshop safety requirements without impeding access for maintenance or gap adjustment.
