Open Cam Paper Cup Machine

The integrated ultrasonic welding unit bonds the cup side seam without adhesive or excessive heat, producing a uniform, leak-proof joint at full production speed. This reduces consumable costs and eliminates the warm-up time associated with hot-melt systems.

A multi-row automatic feeder with an anti-withdrawal mechanism locks each paper blank in position before it enters the forming station. A dedicated manipulator then transfers the formed cylinder between ultrasonic welding, oiling, bottom punching, bottom folding, preheating, and knurling stations — maintaining alignment throughout the entire sequence.

The Delta PLC and touchscreen interface, paired with an Omron 360-pulse encoder and Panasonic proximity sensor, deliver closed-loop speed and position control. Schneider contactors and relays handle power switching, while a Delta VFD regulates the main drive for smooth acceleration and consistent cup quality across the 70–90 pcs/min speed range.

Exchangeable molds cover 3 oz to 16 oz cups, and NTBOBO manufactures custom tooling for special dimensions. The machine accepts PE-coated paper from 160 to 350 gsm — thin stock for vending-machine cups through heavy board for large-format cold-drink containers.

The forming area is fully enclosed with clear polycarbonate panels, allowing visual inspection without exposing operators to moving components. The compact, painted-steel chassis keeps all drive motors, stepper units, and pneumatic lines contained, simplifying cleaning and meeting food-packaging plant requirements.
