With 2,300 KN of active roller loading and a 168.5 KW drive system, this machine forms 6 mm steel plate into precise rim section profiles without intermediate annealing. The force capacity provides headroom for harder steel grades and thicker gauge materials within the rated range.
Top and bottom rollers machined to ±0.02 mm concentricity, combined with PLC-controlled hydraulic positioning, deliver a repeatable work precision of 0.01 mm. This level of accuracy reduces downstream correction steps and keeps finished rim runout within tight tolerances required for tubeless wheel applications.
The roll forming process is divided across three coordinated machines, each shaping the rim profile incrementally. This staged approach distributes forming stress evenly, prevents material cracking, and produces more uniform wall thickness across the completed section — a direct factor in rim fatigue life.
Pneumatic loading and unloading eliminates manual rim handling between cycles. Operators position the workpiece, and the system handles clamping, forming, and ejection automatically. The result is 800–1,200 rims per shift with reduced physical strain and shorter changeover gaps.
At 11.5 tons with a robust welded steel frame, the machine is engineered for multi-shift operation in high-volume wheel rim factories. The external hydraulic power unit keeps heat away from the forming area and provides straightforward access for filter changes, oil monitoring, and pump service.
