Key Features
The center-spindle architecture positions the ram directly above the die, shortening the force path and eliminating lateral deflection. Upper and lower die tables maintain flatness within 0.03 mm throughout the full stroke, delivering consistent fin profiles across every cycle. Tooth height repeatability of ±0.01 mm ensures each fin meets the dimensional requirements of high-efficiency heat exchangers.
A frequency-controlled main drive provides stepless adjustment from 35 to 120 strokes per minute — no gear changes, no mechanical stops. Operators can ramp speed to match material gauge and fin complexity, optimizing throughput without sacrificing quality. The 4 kW / 5.5 kW motor keeps energy consumption low relative to output.
The line includes a powered decoiler rated for 1,000 kg coils up to 450 mm wide and a servo cutter that handles widths from 10–300 mm at 60 cuts per minute. Feed speed reaches 5,000 mm per cycle, and air pressure between 0.5–0.8 MPa drives clean, burr-free shearing. This eliminates the need for separate upstream equipment and reduces floor-space requirements.
Mitsubishi PLC logic paired with a Delta touchscreen gives operators clear access to speed settings, stroke counters, and fault diagnostics. The automatic lubrication system delivers oil to critical wear points on a timed schedule, reducing unplanned downtime. Structural simplicity — fewer transmission components, a compact 1,400 × 1,000 × 1,650 mm footprint — means fewer parts to inspect and replace.
The adjustable mold-height mechanism and modular die mounting let a single press produce fins ranging from 1 mm to 12 mm in height with various pitch configurations. Changeover is handled through the HMI, and NTBOBO maintains over 300 die sets to support custom fin geometries for automotive radiators, HVAC coils, refrigeration evaporators, and other compact heat exchanger designs.
Technical Specifications
The fin forming machine is a special processing equipment for processing heat transfer fins, a key component of heat exchangers. Compact heat exchangers made up of such heat transfer fins have been used in a wide range of applications in the automotive, marine, air conditioning, compressor, construction machinery, mining machinery, aerospace, military and hydraulic oil cooling industries.
