Key Features
Traditional rectangular duct seaming requires roll forming the lock, roll forming the flange, then connecting and closing the seam — three discrete operations that consume time and floor space. The Duct Zipper performs all three in a single smooth pass, producing a finished, airtight seam with each cycle.
The machine’s linear layout moves along with the ductwork during seaming. After completing one seam, the operator places the duct crosswise onto the material guidance system and slides it back to the start position. This eliminates heavy lifting and awkward repositioning between seams, often saving an entire secondary operation.
The system accepts rectangular ducts of any size and shape up to 700 mm (27 inches) in height. Whether producing small branch ducts or large trunk lines, the same machine handles the full range without tooling changes.
The forming rollers produce extremely tight seams with clean, uniform profiles on every joint. This consistency reduces air leakage in finished ductwork and minimizes rework on the shop floor.
Built on a rigid steel frame with precision-ground work surfaces, the Duct Zipper is engineered for sustained daily production in high-volume fabrication environments. The robust design withstands the demands of continuous sheet metal processing across multiple shifts.
Technical Specifications
The RAS duct seaming technology has been proven in more than 2000 installations around the world, As being the most ergonomically advanced design. The result is the RAS Duct Zipper. It allows you to produce the highest quality duct work faster, easier, and more profitably than ever before!
RAS technology and engineering has taken the seaming process from the traditional three steps down to only one. Traditional methods roll form then receiver lock, the roll form the flange, and finally connect the two and close the seam. The RAS Duct Zipper does all this in one smooth and simple operation!
The result is a clean joint with, extremely tight ducts, and a remarkably fast throughput. The system supports ducts of any size and shape to a height of 700 mm (27 inches). This extremely productive “in-line design” moves through the machine along with the duct work.
After one seam is completed, the operator simply puts the duct crosswise onto the material guidance system and slides it back to the entry point, It’s that simple and, easy more than often its saves a second operation.
