Unlike conventional closing machines that rotate the tube itself, the T-80 holds the copper tube fixed in a pneumatic clamp while a servo-driven roller follows a programmed path around the tube end. This eliminates the risk of long tubes whipping during rotation, makes clamping simpler, and allows the machine to process tubes that would be difficult or dangerous to spin — including pre-bent or pre-assembled pieces.
The closing roller is positioned by a Mitsubishi servo system that executes the same pressure path on every cycle. Because the forming path is programmable through the Mitsubishi PLC and touch screen, operators can store and recall recipes for different tube diameters and wall thicknesses without mechanical changeover, reducing downtime when switching between product variants.
Core control, drive, and pneumatic components are sourced from Mitsubishi, SMC, Siemens, and Schneider — brands with established service networks in over 80 countries. This means replacement parts are available locally in most major manufacturing regions, keeping unplanned downtime to a minimum.
A 25-second cycle on Φ50 mm tubes translates to roughly 140 closures per hour before factoring in load/unload time. Combined with 8 kW or 10 kW motor options matched to tube size, the T-80 balances speed and energy consumption for medium-volume production lines typical of HVAC component and refrigeration equipment factories.
The fully enclosed chassis contains the spinning tooling, reducing both noise and the chance of operator contact with moving parts. A signal tower provides at-a-glance cycle status, and a prominently placed emergency stop allows instant shutdown — essential for compliance with factory safety standards in automotive and appliance manufacturing environments.
