Z42 Automatic Metal Screw Cold Heading Forming Machine

The Z42 accepts bulk hex nut blanks through an integrated hopper and automatically feeds, orients, clamps, and taps each piece at rates up to 90 pcs/min for M6 and 70 pcs/min for M8. Once the hopper is loaded, the machine runs continuously with no manual handling between cycles, freeing operators for other tasks on the production line.

A 2.2 KW motor on a standard 380V supply drives the entire forming and tapping process. Compared to larger thread-processing equipment that may draw 6–18 KW, the Z42 keeps electricity costs significantly lower while maintaining throughput suitable for dedicated small-fastener production cells.

The belt-driven mechanical design uses fewer hydraulic or electronic components than comparable machines, which reduces both the frequency and complexity of maintenance. Replacement parts — belts, dies, and clamping components — are standard items, minimizing downtime when service is needed.

At 800–950 kg, the Z42 can be positioned on a standard factory floor without reinforced foundations. Its small footprint makes it practical to deploy multiple units in parallel for higher aggregate output or to dedicate individual machines to specific nut sizes.

The fully enclosed forming section and belt guard keep moving components shielded during operation. Control levers are positioned for clear access, and the mechanical simplicity of the machine means fewer unexpected failure modes during continuous production shifts.
