The spindle uses high-precision grouped rolling bearings, selected and pre-loaded under greenhouse conditions after strict measurement. A full waterproof labyrinth seal prevents coolant ingress, preserving bearing accuracy and extending service life — directly supporting the machine’s Ra0.63μm surface finish capability.
Longitudinal table travel is powered by a 3MPa hydraulic system with an 80L reservoir. The purpose-built grinder valve separates mechanical reversing from throttle speed control and includes an unloading function, enabling smooth table reciprocation without impact at reversal points — critical for maintaining surface quality on every pass.
Double V-shaped horizontal guide rails with resin-Teflon slide linings minimize stick-slip and dampen vibration. The column uses a large-span moment guide rail design that resists tilting forces, keeping the grinding wheel aligned to the workpiece even during heavy cuts. Net machine weight of 2,000kg contributes to overall stability.
The vertical handwheel delivers 0.01mm per graduation (1.25mm per revolution), while horizontal cross-feed adjusts between 0.01mm and 0.07mm per stroke. This range allows operators to transition from aggressive stock removal to final finishing without changing setup, reducing cycle time on precision parts.
A 5.0kW spindle motor turns the ⌀300×25×⌀75mm grinding wheel at 1,440 r/min, providing consistent peripheral speed for flat grinding of steel, cast iron, and aluminum alloys. The 420mm vertical travel accommodates tall workpieces or stacked fixtures, expanding the machine’s usable envelope.
