A servo motor and controller handle the entire feed cycle — fast pre-feeding at the start, then automatic deceleration as the hose approaches the programmed length. A limit-switch system locks the final dimension with ±5 mm tolerance, ensuring every piece meets specification without operator intervention.
Before the grinding wheel engages, a pneumatic braking cylinder presses a V-shaped clamp onto the hose to prevent movement. The wheel spins above 7,000 rpm and descends at controlled low speed through a hydraulic shock absorber, producing smooth, burr-free ends. The high-speed return stroke minimizes cycle time.
PLC-controlled sensors continuously monitor grinding wheel wear and adjust the wheel position to maintain a constant cutting gap. This eliminates the need for frequent manual re-calibration and keeps cut quality uniform across thousands of cycles.
All parameters — cut length, batch count, feed speed — are entered through a touchscreen interface. The system tracks production in real time and triggers alarms for completed batches, material depletion, or equipment faults, giving operators full visibility without hovering over the machine.
The frame uses aluminum extrusion profiles for rigidity and corrosion resistance, while painted sheet-metal panels enclose the drive components. Pneumatic lines are neatly routed, and the modular layout provides clear access for maintenance. An emergency stop and foot-pedal override add an extra layer of operational safety.
