Six sets of main forming rollers, machined from Cr12MoV cold-work die steel, maintain tight dimensional tolerances across long production runs. This high-chromium, high-carbon tool steel resists abrasive wear and deformation, ensuring each lock ring meets the profile accuracy required for reliable drum closure — whether processing mild steel, galvanized sheet, or stainless steel strip.
The machine combines three operations into one continuous process, eliminating manual transfer between stations. Strip material feeds in, passes through the multi-stage roller assembly, and exits as a finished, cut-to-length lock ring. This integration reduces handling damage, cuts cycle time, and lowers per-piece labor costs significantly compared to multi-machine setups.
Operators can adjust ring diameter from 100 mm to 1200 mm and strip width from 15 mm to 60 mm using the hand wheel adjustments on each roller set. This range covers lock rings for small chemical pails through large fiber and steel drums, so a single machine serves multiple product lines without dedicated tooling for each size.
The eight-digit counter allows operators to preset the exact quantity needed per order. Once the batch is complete, the machine stops automatically — preventing overproduction, reducing scrap, and freeing operators to manage other tasks on the production floor.
At 4 kW total power consumption and a footprint under 2.7 m², this machine fits easily into existing drum manufacturing lines. The hydraulic cutting mechanism operates cleanly within the machine envelope, and the overall weight of 900 kg allows standard floor mounting without reinforced foundations.
